Technically this boat is a bowrider, but the bow really serves two purposes. For water-sports and cruising, the padded seat forward is plush and luxurious. For fishing, simply remove the seat pad to reveal a casting platform. The main cockpit has nice non-skid flooring.The 205 Dorado is very spacious and the wide beam makes it seem larger than 20 feet. Lots of built-in storage areas with two compartments that are integrated into the aft deck. On the port side is a live well and to starboard is access to batteries and pumps. A large anchor locker is found in the bow. Being a dual-console design, both consoles have their own separate lockers. There is also a massive in floor locker on center to house your choice of water toys, or it can be used as a fish box.If you're fishing the six stainless steel flush mounted rod holders are a nice feature. Your crew will appreciate the raw water wash down for instant clean-ups after a day of catching fish.For those into cruising, a wide walk- thru windshield offers plenty of protection from the wind. The helm is very well organized, with a built-in beverage holder and compass to starboard, stainless-steel captain's wheel, Yamaha digital instrumentation and a see through compartment door where charts, electronics and miscellaneous gear can be stowed. The captain's chair is very comfortable and the passenger's seat pulls out into a full sun-lounge.According to Scout, the boat has more longitudinal stability which improves planing and general handling. With Yamaha's 150 horsepower four-stroke outboard bolted to the transom, a 3-second hole shot is indeed fast. Acceleration throughout the engine's powerband is very impressive. The 205 hits 25 mph in just over 4 seconds, 35 mph in 5.8 seconds and maxes out at 47.4 mph in just over 15 seconds.
